Summer Term

Mon 14TH May 2018 - Year 1 Trip to London Eye

On Monday Year 1 went to the London Eye. They excitedly walked to Rayners Lane Station and were enamoured by the fantastic landmarks that they saw on the ground and above from the London Eye. Before going onto the London Eye the children thoroughly enjoyed a 4D experience. They were fascinated with a comparison of the map location and views from above and spotted Wembley stadium, Buckingham Palace and Horse Guards Parade.

After an amazing experience the children had a picnic and played in Jubilee Park, whilst some basked in the sunshine.

Thurs 10TH May 2018 - Reception Trip to Willows Farm

The farm visit proved a very exciting, fun and educational time for the children. They were able to relate to what we have been learning about this half term. It was wonderful to see how the children gained self-confidence to touch, handle and feed a range of farm animals. Our favourite part was the bumpy ride on the tractor that took us around Willows.

Tues 1ST May 2018 - Year 4,5 & 6 Drama Workshop

We were fortunate to have some visitors this term who put on a hilarious and extremely interactive show for years 4, 5 and 6. Through roleplay, comedy and music, the children learnt about the importance of having clean, non-polluted air and looking after the environment. They even witnessed a great talent show between the two guests, who showed them how walking or cycling to school can be highly beneficial.

Tues 1ST May 2018 - Trip to Westminster Abbey

Some of our Y3 and Y4 children visited Westminster Abbey on Tuesday and were blown away by the spectacular architecture of such a splendid building. Children followed up their workshop the week earlier by learning more about many historically significant individuals including some of the Kings, Queens and poets who are buried in the Abbey. Children also had an enjoyable lunch on the bank of the Thames.

Thurs 26TH April 2018 - Year 1 Trip to London Mosque

On Thursday Year 1 had an amazing time at the London Mosque where the children asked lots well thought out questions. They travelled on the train from Rayners Lane to Baker Street. After a very informative tour around the Mosque they had a further treat, with a picnic in Regents Park. Other members of the public and the tour guide at the Mosque praised them for their inpecciable behaviour during their visit at the mosque, on the train and in Regents Park.

Thurs 19TH April 2018 - Year 3 & 4 Historical Workshop

A group of pupils in Y3 and Y4 were transported back in time this week when they were visited by a special guest from the 1600s. Children were given the chance to learn about the British monarchy including many interesting and gruesome stories about Westminster Abbey. Children even got to re-enact the loading and firing of a traditional musket as they prepared for battle.

Tues 17TH April 2018 - Year 5 Trip to Lords / British Museum

Year 5 pupils were very busy this week. On Tuesday they attended Lord’s and had the opportunity to experience an interesting day at the “Home of Cricket”. On Wednesday, the children stepped back in time to ancient Egypt at the British Museum. All involved had a fantastic time learning about daily life, art and mummification – even of cats! The children were wonderfully behaved, with many members of the public congratulating them!
