Our school is situated in the suburbs of Rayners Lane and was opened in 1938. Roxbourne is a Local Authority Community School. The Infant and Junior Schools amalgamated on 1ST January 2013 to become Roxbourne Primary School.
Classrooms are well maintained and equipped and there is a separate Library, Two Computing Suites, a Food Technology Room, a Music Room and a Design Technology Room. There are three playgrounds, a wild garden, memorial garden and a a Sports Field.
The new extension opened in September 2010 with three purpose built Reception classrooms on the ground floor and three Year 6 classrooms above.
The Nursery Class opened in September 2010 and a Children’s Centre in March 2012.
Roxbourne is a three form entry Primary School and Nursery which caters for the needs of children between the ages of 3 and 11.
There are two nursery classes, morning and afternoon. The Teacher is supported by two Classroom Teaching Assistants. There is a maximum of 30 pupils per class.
In the main school each year group is arranged in three mixed ability classes. Each class has its own Teacher and is supported by a Classroom Teaching Assistant for all or part of the week. There is a maximum of 30 pupils per class.
