Children are given opportunities to grow in awareness of themselves, others and the world around them and begin to understand the response of religion in these areas. Children learn to respect and understand the views practice and beliefs of others. They are encouraged to share and compare their experiences and knowledge. The meaning and purpose of life, beliefs and values are investigated through literature, sacred texts, religious buildings and artefacts. The school follows the Harrow Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education as recognised by all the local faith leaders represented in the London Borough of Harrow. A copy can be seen on request.
We wish all of our Muslim families a happy and blessed month of Ramadan. As it is very warm, and fasting during the summer months can span up to 19 hours, we have sought advice on how best to support parents who would like their children to fast. We therefore would recommend that when thinking about your child fasting, that only children in Years 5 or 6 are considered. If you would like your child to fast, or partially fast, please inform the office so we can make the necessary arrangements.
