Pupil Leadership

In Year 6, part of the additional responsibilities given to children, are the roles of House and Sports Captains.

In the first half term Year 6 ran an election to choose their House Captains and Sports Captains. All children who wanted to run for one of these prestigious roles had to write a speech, which they presented to Year 6, explaining why they would be a good candidate for this role.

Role of a House Captain:

  • Collecting, analysing and presenting house points for the four houses: Huskies, Kangaroos, Wagtails and Robins.

  • Supporting Mrs Ansell and/or Mr Williamson with the organisation of the certificates for Celebration Assembly.

  • Collecting and delivering registers.

  • Supporting the librarian during breaktimes and lunchtimes.

  • Supporting with the organisation of fundraising events.

Role of a Sports Leader:

  • Playground Buddies – supporting the younger children and new children to Roxbourne.

  • Refereeing during playtimes.

  • Supporting with giving out and collecting of sports equipment.

  • Plan and lead Sports Week / Day

  • Organise sporting fundraising events.

  • Lead peer reading.

  • Pupil Voice on the playground.
