Chargeable Activities

Sometimes, the school will ask parents to make voluntary contributions to cover the cost of some school related activities. Below, you will find more information on the types of activities we may charge for.

Loss or damage to books and other resources

Parents may be asked for a contribution towards their replacement.

If a child wilfully damages or destroys school property, e.g. windows, furniture, resources parents will be asked for a contribution towards repair or replacement.

Instrumental Lessons through Harrow Music Service (Years 3 – 6)

Children have opportunities to learn a range of musical instruments in extra-curricular lessons, provided by specialist teachers which parents are asked to pay for in advance at the beginning of the year or termly. There is also a charge for instruments hired from the school.

Termly Contribution

We ask for a termly contribution of £10 to enable us to do a variety of additional activities with the children including cooking, DT, Art workshops, planting seeds and bulbs.

Swimming in Year 5

Parents are asked to make a contribution towards the hire of the weekly coach transport to and from the Swimming Pool.

School Visits

Parents will be asked for voluntary contributions to cover the cost of school visits and / or inviting  professional visitors to the school (theatre groups, authors, poets and artists).

Where families are in receipt of Income Support or Family Credit, the school will endeavour to assist as far as possible.

Clubs

Depending on the nature of the club, parents may be asked for voluntary contributions to cover the cost of coaching, materials etc.

Money

Please ensure that all monies sent to school are in a sealed envelope marked with your child’s name, amount and the purpose of the money. If paying by cheque these should be made payable to ‘Roxbourne Primary School’ with your child’s name on the reverse.
