With effect from the 1ST April 2016, I will be taking over the role of Chair of Governors at Roxbourne Primary School. This is role that I feel privileged to be able to take on. I have been a parent Governor at Roxbourne for the past 8 years and all three of my children have attended Roxbourne from Reception. My eldest Son Lewis is now at Rooks Heath College in year 9 and Amelia is in year 6 and Lucas is in year 5.
However, my affiliation with Roxbourne Primary School goes back much further than this. I was lucky to have been able to attend Roxbourne as a child myself along with my 3 brothers and have very fond memories of attending the school during the 1980’s. I have been lucky to have lived in the vicinity of Roxbourne for the majority of my life.
I qualified with a BA Honours degree in Primary Education in 1997 and have worked in several schools in Harrow for over 16 years, in class teacher and senior leadership positions. Whilst teaching full time, I returned to Brunel University to complete an MA degree in Education, graduating in 2006, with my 3 children all under the age of 5 at the time.
I have run my own business supplying educational resources to schools since 2005 and in September 2013 I resigned from teaching and opened my own Nursery School, which I now own and manage.
I am grateful for my own education received at Roxbourne School and I feel that the school has given me and my children the best possible start to education and encouraged me to become a self motivated, life long learner.
I look forward to working with the staff, parents and fellow governors to continue to make Roxbourne grow in to a school for the future, that our children can be proud to have attended.
